A blog dedicated to understanding and critiquing the built environment of Birmingham, AL. Most people give little thought to the city they live in, the actual, physical city. In a city like Birmingham, the built environment can seem to stand still. However, everything is in a constant state of change, including every part of our cities. My professor once told me that over half the built environment that will exist in 30 years has not been built yet. Cities will change, let us ensure that they change for the better.
This blog is modeled after many different sites, but chief among those is Jeremy Erdreich’s blog Bhamarchitect. If you have never read it, you should stop reading this and check it out. His blog has been a great source of news, information and conversation for the people of Birmingham.
